1000 Markets Shop & The Tree House

Well, today is so chilly that it was time to bust out the mucklucks!

I am very excited to say that I opened another shop (other than my etsy shop) on 1000markets- check it out! Just a way to expand the amount of folks reached.

Also, check out some external pics of the tree house and one of the dining room. Someone told me that the dining room looks like a retro hookah bar- dig it.

Keeping it Presidential.

In a last ditch effort to win "the women's vote" (to which i lovingly reply 'which women?') John McCain chose Sarah Palin, his teammate in advocating for abstinence only until marriage sex education...

among other anti-choice policies. Now we see, via Gov. Palin's pregnant teen daughter the ways in which those politics are not practical or empowering.

The sad part is that McCain and Palin's politics are getting in the way of this young woman's right to privacy and her own decision making. It strips this young person with a choice- to continue the pregnancy or not.

Either way, it creates yet another shoe-in for Obama/Biden which I love.

I do not love McCain, who clearly thinks that women are stupid in his clear hope that "the women" (aka Hillary supporters) would vote for his ass just because he chose a running mate with a vagina.

Choosing Palin is almost MORE of a body blow to women than choosing another wrinkly white guy to lead the way.

I can't.

School starts in 2 days. Uh oh.

To Zine or Not to Zine

I am contemplating starting a zine- a feminist, love your body, radical self-acceptance, political, DIY revolution zine.

I have never sat down and actually constructed a zine and am currently blocked on how to start. I have read all of the "how to zine" "zine 101" blah, blah, blah. Its just- hasn't it been done before? I suppose creating zines is all about individualized, non-corporate media and bringing folks together (which I'm all about) but I'm experiencing those inner creative demons that say "you can't do it!"

Perhaps tonight I will sit down with a cup 'o yerba, my supplies, maybe a little dyke folk and work it all out.

I think this blockage is about working so hard and not MAKING the time necessary to make art. I should really utilize the quiet and essential night hours to make the things that make my heart and soul sing.

Hopefully I will have some goodness up on the Etsy by Monday. One can only hope, though.

It's my first time.

hi blog world.

here i am in my tiny [but very feminist] cube wishing i was home making very feminist art.
what a dream it would be to quit the world of the office job for the world of the art room.
enough musing on about things that are, at least in the near future, just not possible.

more later when my etsy shop is up.

for now,

check out this link. people mortify me sometimes.
